Dear Port Jervis Learning Community:
We were informed this afternoon, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, that two of our high school students tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). Neither of these cases resulted in any contacts from the school setting. One of the students is in the Remote Only model and has not attended in-person instruction this school year. The second student has not attended in-person instruction since October 29, 2020. Therefore, there is no contact tracing from the school setting.
Thank you for understanding the fact that due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the name or names of the individuals with COVID-19. We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Orange County Department of Health at
845-291-2330.
Sincerely,
Mike Rydell
Superintendent of Schools
