Free Student Meals
For the 2024-2025 school year, PJCSD was one again approved by NYS to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This allows us to serve breakfast and lunch at No COST to students, regardless of income! Throughout the school year, we will send out a Household Income Eligibility Form. Completing this form is vital for obtaining district-wide educational programs including, but not limited to being able to offer no cost student lunches, grants, funding, college preparation courses and various engagement opportunities. With each family that completes this form, PJCSD has a better chance of reaching the percentage that will maximize the districts reimbursement rate. With our reimbursement rate at the maximum level, the district will be able to keep our no cost breakfast and lunch program in place while making positive improvements to our menu.
With the upcoming year our Food Service Department will roll-out new menu options and our students may want seconds! The second meal cost for breakfast at the elementary level is $1.75 and lunch is $2.80. For our secondary students, breakfast is $2.00 and lunch is $3.25. All the Ala Carte, snack and other offerings are going to remain the same prices as last year.
The new salad bars have been installed in all cafeterias and a smoothie machines have been installed in the High School and HBE. Throughout the year, we will continue to visit students in their cafeterias and classrooms to get feedback on the new menu options, salad bar and smoothie stations. We will be diligent in promoting healthy eating habits, while striving to improve the offerings from our kitchens.
