English Language Arts 8
Students continue to hone their reading and writing skills through aspects of Reading and Writing Workshop while preparing them for high-school-level curriculum. There is a focus on the ability to use accurate and relevant evidence from various sources when crafting claims or developing compelling arguments. Revision and editing are integral components of the writing process and are encouraged daily in this course. Students engage in integrated curriculum activities while further developing their vocabulary skills. The New York State Grade 8 English Language Arts Assessment is administered in April.
