College Credit Opportunities
Port Jervis High School offers Honors and College level courses. Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA) and SUNY Orange (Orange County Community College) provides qualified students with the opportunity to earn credits in college level courses that are transferable to many colleges. Students are assessed a fee per credit by Syracuse University and SUNY Orange.

College Level Courses in High School
Students have the opportunity to earn college credit in:
- English
- French
- Spanish
- Biology
- Calculus
- Chemistry
- English
- Forensics
- Psychology
- U.S. Government
- U.S. History
A comprehensive screening process has been developed to identify the students to be recommended to participate in each program. It should be noted that each program has specific guidelines and policies that are set by the college. Numerous post-secondary opportunities (two and four-year colleges, and vocational/ technical/business training institutes) also exist for students.

High School Honors Program
Port Jervis also offers an enriched, academically challenging Honors Program for qualified high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors. A comprehensive screening process identifies students for recommendation to each program. Grades earned in Honors courses carry an additional 5-point weight on each quarterly report card, up to 100. Additional points carry over to the next marking period.
