Algebra 1 R

This is the first course of the New York State Learning Standards for mathematics. It is geared toward students who have performed at an average to above average level in mathematics. The topics taught will include expressions, equations, polynomials, irrational numbers, linear and quadratics functions, quantitative reasoning, and descriptive statistics. Students will take the Algebra I Regents exam  in June. Successful completion of this exam is a requirement for graduation. Graphing calculators (TI-84) are recommended for this course and are used throughout the year and on the Regents exam.
