343 - Chemistry in the Community

Prerequisites: Students must have completed two years of science to include either Living Environment R, or Living Environment 1 and 2.

This course is designed as a third year science course. The course presents a more practical approach to chemistry. Many of the topics covered have an environmental basis. Some of the major topics covered in this course include atomic structure, organic chemistry, the periodic table, nuclear chemistry, acid-base chemistry, and electrochemistry. Laboratory exercises are also included in the course to help students better comprehend the concepts presented. The final examination in this course is a local final examination.
