The District Office has officially moved from 9 Thompson Street to 150 Pike Street. This new location used to house many county agencies in the front of the building and a SUNY Orange satellite campus in the back. We are located in the back and the best way to find us is to turn from Pike Street onto West Broome Street. Our parking lot and main entrance are across the street from the car wash.
The Pupil Personnel Office (PPS office) will move from the Hunt Building to the same location on January 26. They will have their own entrance on the side of the building that faces the public library. Their area used to be a V.A. health clinic.
The old Thompson Street building was built as the Riverside School in 1897. It was closed as a school and became the district office in the 1960s. It had a great, 125-year run but it was time to move out since it wasn't ADA compliant, had weight limit restrictions for the second floor and attic, and was overcrowded with several people working in closets. The District plans on selling the building.
