Updated COVID-19 Guidance and Information - 2022-2023 School Year

Port Jervis Learning Community,

As we prepare for the opening of the 2022-2023 school year, there was anticipation for the release of updated COVID-19 guidance and direction from NYS Department of Health and NYS Education Department.  While the links below will provide further detail and specifics, the highlights are as follows:

Weekly testing for unvaccinated school personnel is no longer required

If one is exposed to COVID-19 (Close Contact), they can continue to attend school/work

If one tests positive for COVID-19, the isolation period is 5 days if symptoms are improving and fever free without the use of fever-reducing medicine.  “Individuals returning to school after completing 5 days of isolation should wear a mask in school on days 6-10, in accord with CDC recommendations.”

Additional information can be accessed using the following links.  Please contact your child’s building principal or school nurse if you have any questions.
