Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for the continued patience and support as we open the school year. We began the year fully aware that there will be a need to evaluate and make adjustments to our planned activities as the year progressed. Collectively our priorities remain to provide the safest learning environment possible and to continue with in-person learning five days per week. To this end, one of the adjustments that I feel is warranted at this point is to change the modality we will use for our Open Houses. While I recognize that these events set the platform for the home to school connection, the above central tenets remain as the top priorities. Therefore, our plan for the upcoming Open Houses is as follows:
- All in-person Open Houses will be cancelled
- Teachers will record a video in the format of their choosing that will highlight and provide the information that is traditionally shared at these events
- The videos will be linked in each teacher’s Google Classroom
- Parents will use their child’s Google Sign-in to access the Google Classroom(s) to view the video(s)
- Open House videos will be posted in the Google Classrooms by 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021
Your child’s building principal will provide additional information regarding Open Houses, parent-teacher communication, and the value we place on the home to school connection, but we wanted to provide this decision for the change in format at the earliest opportunity.
