5 Day In Person Instruction Letter

Port Jervis Learning Community,

As a reminder, Port Jervis City School District will transition from four (4) days of in-person instruction per week to five (5) days per week beginning the week of May 3, 2021.  As previously outlined, the expectations are as follows:

  • Students that are attending in-person instruction are expected to attend school in-person each school day.
  • Students that are signed up for Remote Instruction are expected to log on to their Google Classroom(s) each school day.

Remote / In-person Instruction
With the progression to five (5) days of in-person instruction coupled with the need for consistency in instructional planning and delivery, students will not be permitted to change models of instruction after May 3, 2021.  Specifically, students that have selected the “In-person Model” will remain in this model through the remainder of the school year.  Similarly, the “Remote Instruction” students will remain in the Remote Model for the remainder of the school year.

If your child is currently enrolled in the Remote Model and would like to transition to attending school in-person beginning May 3, 2021, please contact your child’s Main Office as soon as possible.  No changes will be made after May 3, 2021.

Thank you,

Mike Rydell
Superintendent of Schools
