COVID-19 Update - 12/15/20

Dear Port Jervis Learning Community,

We have been informed this afternoon that one staff member and two students of the Port Jervis City School District have tested positive for COVID-19.  The staff member is assigned to Port Jervis High School.  One of the students attends the High School, the other attends the Middle School.

The High School student last attended on November 24, 2020.  The Middle School Student last attended November 20, 2020.  There are no proximate contacts in the school setting for these students.  The staff member from the High School was last in the school building on December 11, 2020 and there were a limited number of proximate or direct contacts.  All individuals that were determined to be contacts were notified by school personnel and informed of the need to quarantine pending contact from the Orange County Department of Health.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the names of the individuals with COVID-19. We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you.  With your participation, we believe we can create a safe and fun experience for your children.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Orange County Department of Health at

Sincerely,

Mike Rydell
