Recycling Program

Recycling Program

Last year, Port Jervis School District revamped our recycling program. We started out small and are continuing to grow the program. This year, the cafeteria rolled out reusable, washable lunch trays and got rid of the styrofoam trays we had been using for years. Port Jervis is trying to do our part in creating a more sustainable society. In order to accomplish this goal, we need help from all the stakeholders. We have to shift our thinking and change some of our bad habits.

Our thought process is that  these small changes we have implemented can, and hopefully will, have a large impact on our school, community, and potentially our world. The focus of the video was to teach our students WHY they should WANT to be environmentally responsible individuals. The goal is to educate our students to be environmentally responsible individuals who do their part to help keep our Earth beautiful.
