Dismissal Information for October 9, 2019

Dismissal Information for October 9, 2019

Good Afternoon.

As you may be aware there was a fire at a local business located on the corner of Hamilton Street and Kingston Avenue this afternoon.

We are in communication with the City regarding traffic and the dismissal of our students.  Our plan consists of the following:

Buses will enter and leave through the ASK Elementary entrance.  The police and fire departments will be located at various locations to allow the buses to proceed in the most efficient manner possible.  We have also requested additional buses to provide transportation to our high school walkers that would otherwise travel up Hamilton Street to get home.  These buses for the walkers will leave the high school at approximately 2:30. Busing will also be provided to ASK walkers in a similar manner following their dismissal.

Due to the expected road closures at the time of dismissal, we do expect that there will be delays in student arriving at their homes or bus stops.  This will lead to a delay in the buses arriving in a staggered delay at the elementary schools for their dismissals. As a result we have plans to provide supervision for the elementary students until their buses arrive.

Regarding after school activities, I have requested that practices for our athletics teams are to be in the building, i.e. the gyms, weight room, etc. and not on the athletic fields.

We will provide updates via our App, Facebook, and website as more information becomes available.

Thank you.
