Bus Line Up + Student Drop Off for PJ HS & MS 2025-2026

Greetings PJ High School and Middle School families, staff, and students,

We are excited to start the 2025-2026 school year. The first day of school is Thursday, September 4th.

To ensure a safe arrival for all members of Port Schools, we have made adjustments to our student drop-off procedures on the 209 campus.

Everyone wants all members of our school campus to be safe: students, staff, and families.  Please drive slowly and safely on campus and follow all instructions and traffic directions.

There is a new traffic/drop-off pattern; please read carefully:

HS drop-off:

  • HS parents/drivers should enter campus from Hamilton St. Cars will be directed to drive slowly around the traffic circle and drop off students in front of the HS and GO.
  • Cars cannot wait/park in that area.
  • Cars will exit via Hamilton St.
  • The buses will stop before the crosswalk in front of the HS/directly across from the cafe, which will allow cars to pass across the front of the HS.

MS drop-off:

  • Parents/drivers should enter campus from Rt. 209.  Parents/drivers will make a right into the side parking lot of the MS, immediately past the baseball field.
  • Please drop your student and GO.
  • Cars will turn left to exit back towards Rt. 209.
  • Parents/drivers cannot wait in this area nor drive through campus towards Hamilton St.

All Buses:

  • Buses will release students from 7:10 to 7:14 am.
  • Buses will then depart from campus at approximately 7:14 a.m. The exiting of the buses will take several minutes. Our police officers will hold traffic during this time to let the buses leave quickly and safely.
  • Drop-off of students from vehicles will resume once all buses have exited the campus.
  • If parents/drivers have both HS and MS students, please pick one drop-off area, and then either the HS or MS student can walk to their designated area on campus.
  • Please plan accordingly. Students are expected to be on campus at 7:20 am.
  • There will be NO THRU TRAFFIC on campus during the arrival time. If you enter from Hamilton St., you will exit from Hamilton St. If you enter from Rt. 209, you will exit to Rt. 209.

Please review this information with your child and make plans to have a smooth start to the school day.  We want everyone to be safe and on time. Let's work together with a spirit of #PortPride for a safe, on-time arrival for all!

If you have specific questions, please contact your child's school or speak with a police officer on campus.  Thank you for your continued #supPORT
