On August 6th students attending summer school from ASK and HBE graduated from ADAC’s Too Good For Drugs program. Kindergarteners from Mrs. Thiele’s, Mrs. Haight’s, and Mrs. Palaj’s classes were joined by Tuggles the Bear. 1st Graders from Mrs. Conklin’s, Ms. Ross’, Mrs. Sarbello’s, and Mrs. Mieszkuc’s classes were joined by Carmen the Cool Cat. ADAC’s prevention specialist for PJCSD, Mrs. Hulse, taught ten lessons to each class. They learned how to make friends, how to be a good listener, how to say “no” in peer pressure situations, social-emotional skills, stop and think decision-making, healthy choices, and how to recognize dangerous chemicals and medicines that may be in their homes. After completion, each class had a small graduation ceremony to celebrate all they had learned.
