17th Annual National Night Out Against Crime Celebration
Riverside Park, Port Jervis, NY Tuesday August 5, 2025 * 6-9PM
“Working in Partnership to Keep Our Community Safe!”
The Port Jervis Area National Night Out Against Crime Committee and Port Jervis City Police Department are pleased to announce that we are holding our annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 5 th, 2025, at 6:00 pm at beautiful Riverside Park located in the City of Port Jervis. Last year’s event was attended by over four thousand people and sixty community-based organizations from the Tri-State region. On behalf of the committee, we would be honored if you could attend our event!
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community relationships, and send a strong message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back to instill a safe and positive atmosphere in our community.
This important event is a celebration of our community's commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents, especially our youth, through the promotion of positive, healthy lifestyles. This can only be accomplished through building strong partnerships between the community, local health and human service providers, faith-based organizations, local businesses, schools, civic organizations, and emergency services organizations (Police, Fire, EMS). Crime, drug abuse, and disorder are a community problem and together, we can effectively address the needs of our community. We are confident that we can make a difference and send a clear message that we are united, we are strong, and that we are committed to making the Tri-State community a safe and healthy place to live and raise our families.
National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive, and enjoyable family-oriented program to promote neighborhood spirit and community partnerships in our fight for a safer community. The community benefits of this event extend throughout the year! Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights, this year’s event will feature food, music and interactive activities provided by a host of community organizations to promote partnerships to keep our community safe!
National Night Out Against Crime Itinerary
For many years we have led a parade from City Hall to Riverside Park; this year we are making a few changes and will not be leading a parade to the event. Instead, the event will kick off this year at Riverside Park where participants can enjoy free food and refreshments, DJ entertainment, free bicycle and prize raffles, games and children’s recreational activities, law enforcement, fire department and emergency medical services demonstrations and displays, and visit the many information tables and displays to receive valuable literature, information, and advice from the various community-based organizations and event participants.
The Committee would like to express our gratitude to the various organizations, local churches, businesses, civic groups, and individuals who have volunteered their time or generously donated to help support this event.
National Night Out is truly a community activity and we are fortunate for the strong community support provided by these organizations. We look forward to seeing you at this effective, inexpensive and family-oriented program that promotes neighborhood spirit and community partnerships in our perpetual battle for a safe and healthy community!
With sincere appreciation from the Port Jervis Area National Night Out Committee,
