East Main Fourth Graders recently traveled to Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) for a field trip sponsored by the National Park Service. Students explored the outdoors and learned about our local environment and wildlife through team-building activities and the "Eco-Zone." Students explored this unique “hands-on” room that is filled with different life-sized animal habitats (including a bat cave, a beaver lodge, and an eagle’s nest), sustainable living ideas, and interesting animal displays. (The park service has a program for all fourth graders and their families to enter specified National Parks for free. Each fourth grader received a free pass for the summer. See their website for more information.)
