Ms. Cody’s second-grade class, along with Mrs. Crawford’s and Mrs. Pulsinelli’s classes, marched through the halls to show off their balloon creations. After learning all about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, the students created inflatables of their own. They read the story “Balloons Over Broadway,” about how Tony Sarg, a puppeteer, created the very first Thanksgiving parade for Macy’s. Students learned about the process Macy’s “Balloonatics” take to create their inflatables and floats. They took those same steps with sketches and models, then finally their creation was ready to hit the halls!
