ASK: Arbor Day

In recognition of Arbor Day which is celebrated the last Friday in April each year, arborist Mark Beamish from Orange and Rockland came to educate third graders at ASK about the history of Arbor Day and its importance. Mr. Beamish made a very informative and interactive presentation, and the students were extremely invested. They now all “Speak for the trees!” In addition to exciting and inspiring the students, Mr. Beamish brought gifts! He presented each class with an Arbor Day poster and gifted each child with an Arbor Day bookmark and their very own sapling to plant and tend to at home. In honor of the 151st anniversary of Arbor Day, we ask you to remember, “To be without trees would, in the most literal way, to be without our roots.”

Thank you, Mr. Beamish and Orange and Rockland!
