Course Description:
This course covers major trends in American literature, largely from the 20th century on. Various literary genres, including non-fiction, and noted American and British authors are studied. Students read and comprehend complex texts, initiate and participate effectively in comprehensive and collaborative discussions. In addition, students demonstrate command of vocabulary, language, and conventions of English grammar and usage appropriate for college and careers. The course prepares students to perform effectively on the New York State Regents exam. No Prerequisite.
