Ralph Morgan, Class of 1968

Ralph was a three-sport athlete and senior class president at PJHS. He then enrolled at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy but decided to leave after one year. He was then drafted in the first lottery for the Vietnam War. Ralph became a Special Forces soldier (Green Beret) and headed to Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star for bravery and heroic action when he was one of 33 soldiers defending Hickory Hill, where there was a classified radio relay station, versus 1,200 North Vietnamese Army troops. After his tour of duty ended, he returned home and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Glassboro State College. He then had a 35-year career in criminal justice and earned Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in psychology in retirement.
