John Bell, Class of 1966

John was a social studies teacher at Minisink Valley for 35 years and coached football for 36 years. When he retired, he was the winningest coach in school history for both football and wrestling. In 1999, he was the Sunday Record’s football “Coach of the Year” when his undefeated team won the Section 9 championship. In 2001, the football field at Minisink Valley was named Coach John Bell Field. He was also a longtime Town of Mount Hope councilman who was instrumental in the town’s donation of land for the construction of the new Otisville Elementary School. He loved his family and the Minisink family with all his heart.
