Varsity Club
The Varsity Club is an inclusive organization open to all varsity athletes, dedicated to making a positive impact both within the school and the wider community. Members of the club actively engage in various volunteer opportunities throughout the school year, with a commitment to participate in at least one volunteer activity per season. This involvement not only fosters a sense of community but also encourages personal growth through service.
Throughout the year, the volunteer activities vary based on the evolving needs of the school and local community. Some of the past volunteer events include attending the Hudson Valley Honor Flight, creating holiday cards for residents at St. Joseph's Place, supporting the Elks Hoop Shoot, assisting with the Port Jervis Halloween Parade, and participating in park clean-ups. Other notable contributions have included wrapping presents for the Elks Christmas Drive, ringing the Salvation Army Kettle-Bell, and volunteering at HBE for events such as Leadership Day, the Color Run, Field Day, and the Special Olympics Pep Rally.
In addition to volunteer work, Varsity Club members are expected to attend meetings to stay in good standing. As a reward for their commitment, the club recognizes outstanding senior members with three $500 scholarships annually.
