Three Port Jervis Students have qualified to be among the best and brightest high school students to visit Rochester where more than 2,300 attendees of the New York State Distributive Education Clubs of America’s (DECA) Annual State Career Conference (SCC) prepare to convene in Rochester, NY. DECA regional winners from across New York gather each year for competitions, workshops, State Officer campaigns, and networking. The best competitors at SCC qualify to attend the International Career Development Conference. Of note, more than 100 members of the local business community will volunteer their time as business competition judges.

The Conference/ Competition fosters DECA’s goals of exposing the succeeding generation to the professional world. The State Career Conference will prepare student attendees for the next step in their academic career, and will help develop community-minded leaders.” Over the course of the conference, students will compete in a variety of events designed to test their skills in fields ranging from financing to hospitality to advertising and many other categories involving marketing and business.
