High School social worker Ms. Grismer, working with the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Orange County and Orange County STOP DWI have brought the presentation called "How to help a friend" to our students. High School students will be participating in the conversation during all of the Physical Education classes over the next couple of weeks. Topics of discussion will be why students drink alcohol, the dangers of vaping and nicotine, and signs of drug abuse. Information that allows them to identify the signs of use/abuse will also be presented. Students will receive strategies on how to help someone (or themselves) who might be struggling and will be encouraged to take advantage of the county's "Text4Teens" 24 hour anonymous hot line at 845-391-1000.
