Cancer Screening Leave Time
New York State law entitles employees of public school districts to take up to four hours per year of paid leave time for the purpose of having cancer screening completed. The legislation entitles employees to take this leave time and not have the time charged to their leave accruals.
Employees who utilize this benefit will enter a testing absence in AESOP, and the District will require employees who take advantage of this benefit to provide documentation to the Payroll Department. When creating the absence in AESOP, be sure to select "AM" or "PM" to indicate that the appointment is in the morning or the afternoon.
