Course Description: 

This course assists students in learning to use mathematics efficiently in their personal and business lives. Students will be able to understand terminology, apply mathematical formulas to solve a variety of personal and business problems. Topics include: the use of checking and savings accounts, buying on credit, and how to create a personal investment portfolio, determine gross and net income, calculate auto and housing loans including related expenses, locate accurate information on a variety of charts and tables,use different problem solving techniques, and prepare a budget. This course can serve as a student’s third math graduation requirement. Prerequisite: Successfully completed two other math classes.
