Course Description:
This is the third course of the New York State Learning Standards for mathematics. The course extends the study of functions to include exponential, logarithmic, polynomial and trigonometric functions. In addition, the students will work with series, sequences, probability and statistics. Students will take the Regents exam in June. Successful completion of this exam is a requirement for an Advanced Regents Diploma. Graphing calculators (TI-84) are recommended for this course and are used throughout the year and on the Regents exam. This course is recommended for all students planning to attend a four-year college.
