PJ Schools Water Sample Results

State-wide mandated testing of all water outlets in public schools

May 28, 2021

Dear Port Jervis Learning Community,

New York State Department of Health requires all school districts to conduct tests on water sources in the school setting.  Once completed, schools are required to report any findings that exceed the prescribed limits to the Department of Health, as well as to the learning community.  An overview of the testing requirements, results, and additional information links are attached in the accompanying document.

As an immediate response to these results, signage will be placed at the faucets that exceeded the limit for this round of tests.  The locations are also being reviewed by our personnel to determine if there is a means to address the levels.

Should one have any questions or concerns regarding this information, please contact our Director of Facilities III, Donald Preiss at extension 7501.
