Asbestos Management

The Port Jervis City School District (PJCSD) has available in the Central Administration Office and in each building Principal's office, copies of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Management Plan for public information and review.

As per U.S. Dept. of Environmental Protection regulations, the District reinspects all buildings that contain asbestos every three (3) years and includes those results in the AHERA Management Plan.

PJCSD uses only certified and licensed professionals to inspect, repair, handle and/or remove asbestos containing building materials (ACBM).

The asbestos in PJCSD is monitored and inspected every six (6) months to determine any conditional changes and the need for repair or removal.
