PJMS Hosts Hashim Garrett

Shout-out to PJMS for hosting Hashim Garrett last week. He brought a positive message of hope, anti-violence, respect for all, and social and emotional learning and growth. Mr. Garrett has been visiting with PJMS for years, making a positive impact on our students and staff.

Thank you to Principal Mrs. Cook & Social Worker Mrs. Lehn, and the team at PJMS for their efforts in scheduling all of this, and to all our guests who attended: Chiefs Bill Worden of PJ & Richard Sztyndor of Deerpark, PJ Mayor Dominic Cicalese, OC DA Dave Hoovler, and PJ Det. Kyle Mitchell & Liz Miller from Senator Skoufis' office. The community supPORT and connections were outstanding.

From PJ PD Chief Bill Worden: Working with Ms. Cook and Ms. Lehn, we are able to use funding from the SNUG Anti‑Violence Grant to support anti‑violence prevention programming throughout the Port Jervis City School District at all grade levels. This partnership allows us to bring impactful speakers, mentoring, and resources directly to our students.

We are extremely grateful for the continued support of Senator James Skoufis, whose efforts to secure this vital funding help strengthen both the police department and our community.

#GoPORT! We are proud to share these very important learning experiences provided to our students.
