Middle School Odyssey Of The Mind Team Wins Second Place

Middle School Odyssey Of The Mind Team

March 10th, 2018 -  Port Jervis, NY - The Middle School Port Jervis Odyssey of the Mind team took 2nd place at the 2018 regional tournament at Orange-Ulster BOCES in Goshen held on March 10! An international program that promotes creative problem solving, Odyssey of the Mind challenges students in grades 1 to 12 to compete in long-term problem solving and spontaneous on-the-spot brainstorming. This year, the regional competition included teams from school districts in Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Dutchess counties. All of the Port Jervis students worked diligently for months to create a solution to their team's challenging problem. Middle School students Robert Wagner, Dakota Werlitz, Joseph Ebbecke, Derrick Wragge, Layla Shihada, and Autumn Gill, under the leadership of OM Advisors Kim Wragge, Sherry Wagner, and volunteer Austin Wilson,  have worked incredibly hard to prepare for the competition. Both HBE teams won second place as well. Congratulations to all of the teams and their coaches!
