Class of 2021 Prom Information

Class of 2021 Prom ~ Friday, June 11, 2021 ~ Khuls’ Highland House, Middletown, NY ~ 7pm-11pm The Midnight “Mask”-erade

Dear Seniors and Families,

We are excited to be able to plan some exciting events for the Class of 2021, especially the Prom. Please read the following information carefully as it fully explains the process for purchasing your tickets and attending the event. All of this information is true as of May 10, 2021 and is subject to change if NYS issues new guidance. IF there are any changes, we will notify all Seniors via their school email, the Senior Classrooms and the daily high school announcements. Please keep checking all these daily.

  1. The school must follow ALL NYS and Orange County Department of Health COVID related regulations and restrictions. Because of this, we are limited to 150 people at this event.
  2. SENIORS take precedence over any guests, regardless of if those guests are PJHS underclassmen or outside of the district. NO Senior will be denied the opportunity to purchase a Prom ticket over a guest.
  3. Tickets are $45 for a single ticket and $80 for a pair/couple. Seniors who have fundraising credits may choose to apply them to this purchase and will be notified via school email.
  4. Tickets will go on sale IN THE LIBRARY on Wednesday, May 12th, starting at 1:30 and ending each day at 3. Ticket sales will close on Tuesday, May 25th at 2:30. PM CTech Seniors may purchase their tickets directly from Mrs. Perkowski in the library, during their lunch period.
  5. When you purchase your ticket you acknowledge that:
    1. your ticket is nonrefundable 1
    2. you understand that per the Orange County Department of Health, to attend the event, you need ONE of the following:
      1. proof of full vaccination 14 days prior to the Prom.
      2. proof that you were COVID positive within 90 days of the Prom.
      3. proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the Prom.
      4. proof of a negative rapid test within 6 hours of the Prom. You can sign up for a rapid test, administered at the school, using Pick A Time. More information on that process will be provided.
    3. you understand that by attending there is the possibility and risk for either becoming COVID positive or having to quarantine due to contact tracing.
    4. you agree to follow all Orange County and NYS COVID guidelines and safe practices while at the event, including remaining masked unless you are eating or drinking.
    5. you agree to abide by all school rules at the event.
    6. you agree to fill out the PJCSD COVID attestation form for entry and you understand the answers you enter on that may make you ineligible to attend.
  6. If you are a CTech Senior who has graduation the same night, you may enter the Prom late. Please let an advisor know if this applies to you when you purchase your ticket(s).
  7. If you are bringing an non-PJHS Class of 2021 guest:
    1. you may sign your guest up knowing that if 150 PJHS Seniors buy tickets, your guest will not be able to come. Also guests being signed up are to be in good standing with the school and will be reviewed by the AP’s office (see #d below).
    2. once ticketing is closed to PJHS Seniors, guests will be added to the attendee list in the order they were signed up. Additionally, guests will only be added to the that list IF they have been approved by the AP’s office (see #d below). So, for example, Jane Jones signs up her date on May 13th and he gets AP approval on May 16th; John Smith signs up his date on May 17th but never returns the guest form. If only one slot opens up, Jane’s guest gets that slot. This means it is important to purchase your ticket as soon as possible as well as return the guest form (#d below) in a timely fashion if you are bringing a non PJHS Senior guest.
    3. your guest must follow all the rules set forth by NYS and the OCDOH listed above in #5, including the testing, vaccination or COVID positive attestation.
    4. you must see Mrs. Sauschuck in the AP’s office to obtain a non-Senior guest permission form. This form is needed even if the guest is a PJHS underclassman. This form must be returned to Mrs. Sauschuck as soon as possible (no later than May 19th)!

Your Class Officers and the Prom committee members are working hard to make this a memorable occasion and we hope you will join us to celebrate a most unusual Senior year. As always, if there are questions or concerns, please communicate with an advisor.
