This winter season has been full of music festivals for members of the PJHS Concert Band and Symphonic Band. Marywood University, in Dunmore, PA, holds two festival weekends to showcase high school musicians. These festivals provide students with large ensemble experiences, the opportunity to work with first-rate clinicians, and the chance to interact with other music students from around the region. Our students audition to be invited to participate, attend rehearsals and a director’s banquet, and are then featured in ensemble concerts. They also get to attend a performance by the Marywood University Wind Ensemble to see what a college-level music event is like.
Pictured are the 9th-grade members who participated in the Jr. Wind Band Celebration Festival, as well as the 10th-12th graders who were selected to participate in the Sr. Wind Band Celebration Festival.
