PJHS: Steering Convention

The High School Youth in Government Club recently traveled to Newburgh Free Academy for the Steering Convention, which simulates the democratic process of primary elections. Students from all over the county form into 2 parties and elect candidates who will then run against each other in February in a county-wide vote.

Port Jervis Sophomore Julian Cintron ran for State Senator, and while he had a solid campaign and speech, he fell short and didn't get his party's nomination.

The next event for this club will be in April at Orange County Service Day.
