The High School Youth in Government students traveled to Minisink for the county's first Youth in Government event. Sponsored by OUBOCES, Youth in Government brings students from all over the county together to participate in simulations related to our government. This event was the "Plank Convention," which simulates how an idea moves through the legislative process and becomes a law. Students from Port Jervis presented their planks in committee and then participated in the debates that followed. They look forward to their next event, which is the "Steering Committee", a mock primary election, which will happen in November.
