The high school recently marked World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th. The group ACT Through Music Inc. was here to share prevention information with students during lunch periods and provided students with ACT Kits---a thoughtfully filled bag with stress-relieving items and other prevention materials. We are grateful for their support of our students.
PJCSD would like to remind you that mental health is something we ALL deal with, and it should never be something to hide or feel ashamed about and talking about it matters. Remember it's OK to not be "ok".
Here’s the thing: the people who look “fine” on the outside are sometimes the ones hurting the most. That’s why checking in on friends (and yourself) is so important.
Signs someone might be struggling include: talking about wanting to die or feeling hopeless, saying they’re stuck or like a burden, big changes in mood, sleep, or behavior, pulling away from friends/family, drinking/using more, acting reckless or super angry.
If you’re struggling—please know you’re not alone. You can always call or text 988 to talk to someone 24/7.
