Sojourner Truth Recipients

For the past thirty-four years, in honor of Sojourner Truth, Orange County Community College has celebrated the accomplishments of students in grades 6-12  from around the county by awarding them for their achievements. Each school district solicits nominations and the students receive a medal and a certificate of recognition from SUNY Orange at a ceremony held on campus. SUNY Orange uses this award as a way to encourage college attendance for students from traditionally under-represented groups in the college population.

Port Jervis is proud to announce that Sophomore Noah Henion won a $2,500 SUNY Orange Scholarship through this program. All of our winners were celebrated on March 8th, at SUNY Orange and we offer congratulations to all of our students who were selected for this honor!
