Congratulations to the 2023-2024 Runnin’ Raiders Indoor Track Team. For the first time since 1956, the boys' team has won a Section 9 track title. It is also the first time in PJCSD history that the team has brought home the indoor title. Standouts include: Constentino “Tino” Proscia, who won three individual event titles (55m, long jump, and high jump) and is the first Runnin’ Raider to accomplish this three-title win. Timothy “TJ” Fergus finished fifth in the long jump and placed third in both the 55h & triple jump. Josiah Welch placed second in the 300m (missing the school record by .1 seconds). Ashur Allen placed third in the 55m and finished fifth in the 300m and Dorien Belice placed second in the shot put. Bryce Shannon placed third in the 3200m (beating his previous best time by 13 seconds) and finished sixth in the 1600m. Sydney Bhikarry finished fourth in the high jump and finished seventh in the triple jump (beating his previous best jump by 2’). Dave Mioglionico finished seventh in shot beating his previous best throw by over a foot. The Port boys' 4x800 relay of Bryce Shannon, Jesus Trujillo-Santiago, Jeremiah Pagan, and Shane Seger finished seventh, bettering their time by 24 seconds.

Not to be outdone, the girls' team finished ninth out of twenty-one teams with Makenna Williams finishing fourth in the 55m and sixth in the 300m, Abigail Russell finishing fifth in the 55m and fourth in the 300m. Adding to the accolades were: Savannah Mioglionico taking fourth in the 55h, Aniyah Green finishing seventh in the 55h, and Samantha Maillet finishing ninth in the 1000m (and bettering her personal best by 7 seconds). Our throwers, Jayden Melott and Kayleigh Wright had personal bests in shot and the girls' 4x200 relay of Kaitlyn Batzel, Savannah Mioglionico, Makenna Williams, and Abigail Russell placed second. It was an outstanding job by everyone. The Runnin’ Raiders are coached by John Wright, Head Coach, Tom Dubatowka, Distant Coach, and Matt Somarelli, Throwing Coach.
