Ashley Emerson, Abigail Straebler, and Mason Oldham, all sophomores at Port Jervis High School, were recently selected as Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership ambassadors for the 2022-2023 school year.
Founded in 1958, HOBY is an organization that strives to inspire and develop young volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.
The HOBY award is given to sophomores throughout the country who best represent characteristics such as outstanding communication skills, sensitivity to the needs and concerns of others, and strong decision-making skills.
All three students will participate in the HOBY Leadership Seminar, which will be held at SUNY Albany in June 2023.
