The high school recently celebrated the students in our building who were nominated for a Sojourner Truth Award by their teachers. For the past thirty-two years, in honor of Sojourner Truth, Orange County Community College has celebrated Orange County youth by awarding them for their achievements. OCCC continues to recognize the accomplishments of these deserving students and encourages college attendance as an option for students from groups traditionally under-represented in the college population. All nominated students received Certificates of Recognition from SUNY Orange. The following students were recognized: Mayowa (Kingsley) Babalola, Royal Burke, Elijah Campbell, Tyrie Caridad, Geffen Cauthen, Alexis Clark, Coral Garcia, Andre Griffith, Umm Habiba, Dakota Kays, Paris Khan, Meghan Lauture, La'Niece McGlory, Louis McGlory, Jessenia Meneses, Antonio Michelen Sanchez, Lexie Pospisil, Brielle Rene, Ashley Russell, Jasmine Storer, Aaliyah Summons, and Taylor Walters-Gregory.
