June 25, 2025 - Last Day of School

That's a wrap, PJ on the 24-25 school year! HAPPY SUMMER!

And what a year it was!!! Take a look at many of the #PORTPride highlights:

  • Opened the new EME.
  • Opened the new PJMS.
  • Renovated Chase Field and Glennette Field (turf, track, lights, scoreboards).
  • Built all new grass fields at the MS/HS campus (baseball, softball, and soccer).
  • Installed five new tennis courts and an outdoor basketball court.
  • Made renovations to the HS auditorium (aesthetics and sound system).
  • Created a new HS library and 2 new science classrooms in the old library.
  • Won the football state championship, beating Maine-Endwell, the seven-time state champs, in one of the most exciting games ever.
  • Charlie Wylie was a state champion wrestler and the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the first-ever NYS girls' wrestling state tournament.
  • Several incredible drama shows throughout the year.
  • Great band and chorus concerts, and increasing music enrollment
  • Odyssey of the Mind and Vex Robotics competed in their state tournaments.
  • Doubled the number of pre-K students.
  • Increased the number of MS honors and HS college classes
  • Started the Leader in Me program in grades K-8.
  • Developed a new strategic plan (2025-28).
  • Created curriculum maps in almost all subjects, K-12.
  • Selected a new reading series in grades K-5.
  • Moved from SchoolMessenger to the ParentSquare communications system.
  • Switched to iPads instead of Chromebooks in grades K-2.
  • Sold the former district office on Thompson Street.
  • Purchased the Joyland property connecting the MS/HS campus to EME.
  • Voters approved the budget with no tax increase for 5 years in a row.
  • Obtained voter approval of $49 million capital project for MS/HS campus.
  • Implemented year one of the new contracts for our bargaining units.
  • Ratified a new CSEA contract that starts on July 1.
  • Awarded more than $250,000 to seniors at scholarship night.
