The third of five scheduled PJMS Library Series with ADAC and Mrs. Hulse was held on 2/5 and 2/6 with Mrs. Roach. They had four 6th-grade classes over the two days and saw about 90 students.
ADAC and Mrs. Hulse focused on the positives and what students could do to be "naturally high." They have a five-part program that they are implementing. This is the website for your reference.
For part #3, the focus was on responsible decision-making, thinking again, and perception. This part ended with the fun activity of making jewelry with beads and charms. ADAC and Mrs. Hulse shared with the students that, like Queen in the video, doing something healthy that you enjoy releases natural dopamine. The students took their creations home. They had time to make several pieces, and we overheard them saying they were making jewelry for friends and family, too! Their creativity was amazing, with students making all kinds of creations to hang from water bottles and backpacks! The main thing ADAC and Mrs. Hulse noticed was that ALL the students were completely engaged right from the video until it was time to go. They sat together, had conversations, and even complimented each other on their work.
