On November 1st and 2nd students created art inspired by “Día de Los Muertos” or “Day of the Dead”. Students in Mrs. Medina’s Spanish class had been learning all about this holiday and shared their knowledge with the class. Then, they had a face painting competition in Ms. Penny's art class. They joined together in teams and competed to create the best “Sugar Skull” or “Calavera” design that they could. Their art skills were put to the test! They were scored on how successfully they created symmetry, patterns, and their attention to craftsmanship. Here are some of their fantastic team creations!
