Recognizing that the “Mask Mandate” is a topic that is being monitored by many across New York State, including members of our learning community, this message is to share the components of Governor Hochul’s press conference held earlier today. In summary, Governor Hochul announced that the Mask Mandate is being lifted for businesses and indoor venues effective Thursday, February 10, 2022. In a seemingly contradictory statement, it was also announced that this does not apply to schools. Rather, Governor Hochul will make a decision on the mask requirement in schools following the mid-winter break, scheduled for the week of February 21, 2022. Of note, this will yield the mask requirement in schools to extend into March, 2022.
