The HBE Kindergarten Classes went on a "reverse field trip" - the National Park Service visited their school and a Ranger talked to the classes about one of our most incredible wildlife neighbors, the Bald Eagle. The students learned so much about Bald Eagles including how many feathers an eagle has, the number of eggs an eagle lays in the spring and so much more. Then, the Upper Delaware National Park Service provided traveling trunks that were used to teach about the wildlife in our community. The trunks covered a wide variety of environmental themes such as birds of prey, wildlife, and animal tracks. The trunks contained books, pictures, and hands-on items such as skulls, hides, eggs, and puppets that gave the students a unique perspective into the wildlife of the Upper Delaware River Valley.
