This course will examine the tactics, battle formations, weapons, and evolution of formations throughout History (1100AD-Present). Grades will be determined by tests, quizzes, essays, and group projects.

  • The Crusades - What were the motivations behind controlling the Holy Land? Why did each group want it so badly?
  • The Hundred Years War - A look at Joan of Arc and how she was able to defeat a superior British Army despite her lack of training.
  • The American Revolution - What preceded it and were we really trying to build a new country?
  • The Napoleonic Wars - Was Napoleon a mad genius?
  • The World Wars (I & II) - Locations, tactic, development of chemical warfare and modern weapons.
  • The War on Terror - A look at how war has changed from large force actions to small group excursions.
