Is your work day longer than your child's school day?
If the answer is yes, the YMCA of Middletown can help. Now in its second year, the YMCA Club Kid program provides before and after-school childcare at Anna S. Kuhl and Hamilton Bicentennial Elementary Schools.

The program provides elementary students with a nurturing and stimulating environment. The curriculum-based program is designed to offer a stimulating environment where children can have fun, improve their social skills, and develop leadership skills.

Children enrolled in the AM Club Kid program have a variety of opportunities to start the day right...Activities such as arts and crafts, games and, if needed, quiet time for last minute school projects are available.

The PM Club Kid program offers a supervised program that is less structured, allowing children to choose their daily schedule. Snack, homework time, arts and crafts, outside play, gym time and special events create a diverse afternoon of activities.

The YMCA of Middletown has been providing to school age children throughout Orange County for the past 20 years. Currently, the program is offered at 18 sites in eight school districts. As with all YMCA programs, Club Kid is licensed by the Office of Child and Family Services.  All staff members are fingerprinted and screened.

Parents can register their child by contacting YMCA Associate Program Director Danamarie Welch at 845-344-9622, ext. 232. The Club Kid brochure and registration forms can be downloaded by clicking the links at the bottom of this page. Welch is pictured at the right with a group of smiling Port Jervis students.

This program is a not a drop off program. Parents must register in advance and make a monthly commitment. Parents/Guardians have an option of using the program for 2/3 days or 4/5 days per week per month.

Due to an extension on a grant from Senator John Bonacic, the YMCA is able to offer reduced rates. Financial assistance is available to all who apply and qualify.
