POSTED: JAN.

Port Jervis Middle School students are learning how to save
lives. On December 14,
67 eighth grade students were trained in the basics of CPR by
the American Heart Association.
Along
with the hands-on training, each student received a CPR training
kit, which included an educational DVD, booklet, and an
inflatable “Mini-Annie” resuscitation mannequin.
Tri-County Executive Director for the American Heart Association
Tonya Addy, Middle School Principal Cynthia Benedict, and Health
Teacher Rick Graham organized the training to show students that
they can save lives by calling
9-1-1 and doing chest compressions until help arrives.
The
assembly was funded by the Marian Cooper Community Foundation, a
charitable organizations that helps deliver services to
residents in low income communities in the Port Jervis area.
