HBE celebrates Dr. Seuss'
Birthday
This
year's Dr. Seuss’ Birthday celebration was truly a magical day
for the students at Hamilton Bicentennial Elementary School. In
addition to a special morning program provided by the PTA,
classroom celebrations, and a lunch-time serving of “green
eggs,” the festive day-long event drew many special guest
readers to the school.

The highlight of the day was a lively book reading by Samuel E.
Wright – the New York actor who is known to children around the
world as the voice of Sebastian, the gregarious Jamaican crab in
the Disney Little Mermaid movies and television series.
Wright, who also received Tony
award nominations for his role as Mufasa in the Broadway
production of The Lion King, entertained fourth grade
classes with an animated presentation of Dr. Seuss' book,
Sneetches.
After
a lively question and answer session, which provided an
inside-look at the entertainment industry, Wright awed the
students and teachers by performing the Oscar-winning The
Little Mermaid song, Under the Sea.
Special thanks to our librarian Bev Giblin
for organizing another wonderful Dr. Seuss Day - and for
bringing Mr. Wright to our school! Mrs.
Giblin and her husband, Greg, are pictured with our very special
guest.
We enjoyed all of our guest readers!
